I love this recipe because it is super easy to make and full of flavour.
Please preheat your oven to 180 degrees.
To start off, get a good cut of steak, you do not want really chewy steak with this recipe, because it all melts in the mouth. Put a pan of potatoes on the stove and boil them until they are super soft.
I used a whole punnet of mushrooms for this recipe. Roughly chop them all up and put them in a frying pan with a blob of lightly salted butter. Next add some rosemary, roughly chopped garlic, parsley and, salt & pepper. Fry them until they are mostly cooked. Empty your pan into a bowl, but leave some of the butter in the pan.
Add some more salt and pepper to your pan and place your steak in the pan. You don’t want to fully cook your steak, you just want to colour the outside of the meat. Once you have done that add your mushrooms back into the pan and place into your preheated oven for 10 minutes.
When you take you steak out of the oven, let it sit on the side to rest. This is when you can finish your mash.
Drain the water out of your potatoes and put them back into your pan. Pour in a little bit of milk and add a small blob of butter. Season the potatoes and them mash them up good. By the time you have finished off your mash, your meat will have perfectly rested. And all you are left to do is to plate it all up and enjoy!!
