For this recipe i used a Haddock fillet. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees C. Then you need to start off with chopping your potatoes, when you have enough potatoes to feed all of your guests. Make sure your chips are completely dry before using them. Taking all the moisture out will allow them to crisp up in the oven.
Line a tray with parchment paper and lay out your chips, Making sure that they have enough room to let the hot air around them. If you have an air fryer or an air frying tray, i would suggest to use that instead. Place your chips into the oven for 20-25 minutes, but keep checking them, because the time is dependent on the size of your chips.
Now you need to make your batter. In a bowl add 125g of plain flour, a pinch of sea salt and a pinch of freshly ground black pepper, 1 egg and, 350ml larger. Whisk this all together until you have no lumps left in the batter.
When your chips are nearly ready, heat a pan up with 1/3rd of it filled with oil. When the oil reaches 180 degrees C. The fish fillets will not take long to cooks so you need to get your beans, peas or any other sides you would like to go with your meal ready. Coat you haddock in plain flour before dipping it in your freshly made beer batter. Place your haddock fillets into the pan, make sure you don’t get splashed with the oil. Once one side of your fillet is completely browned, turn the fish over.
Once everything is cooked place it all on a plate with some tartar sauce and some lemon wedges.
I hope you enjoyed this recipe and that you enjoy this meal! Happy eating 🙂
